Tasks

The main tasks for obtaining the vertex detector performance are going to be performed using the ILC framework. As a measure for the performance we are going to use the residual distribuitions of the simulated vertex to the reconstructed vertex. This is going to be done with three methods.

  • Muons from a particle gun. With this method we can examine selected areas of interest e.g. overlap regions or switcher boards
  • J/Psi decay to mu/mu. This is going to be our tool for examining the z-vertex resolution because the boosted J/Psis do not always have their vertex at the IP
  • B0 and B+- decays without background

Detector models

Optimization parameters:

  • Bricked pixel structure (b)
  • mounting rings total thickness of 1cm / 0.5cm
  • Variable pixel size (vps)
  • 1000 pixel per row / 800 pixel per row (ppr)
  • Belle SVD2 / SBelle / SBelle upgrade
